KaiOS is now, the world’s third most popular OS with a total number of 100 million KaiOS running featured phones, shipped in almost 100 countries. The company was not much popular especially in India before Reliance Jio has started offering some cheapest data and call plans with its featured phone runs on KaiOS.
KaiOS has announced $50 Millions of funding from Cathay Innovation with the existing partnership of Google and TCL. With this fund, KaiOS aims to expand into a new market and to invest in product portfolio research and development.

This Series B round allows us to accelerate these efforts and increase the impact we can make in societies around the world, one phone at a time.”
This time Google is expected to launch YouTube, Google Assistant and Google Map like apps on KaiOS with some improvements. As the company has already shipped more than 100 million headsets with the OS, likely to expand its business in the more rural area around the world, where internet is still a dream.
