Bharat Bandh called by Central Trade Union across the country on 8th and 9th of 2019 against the alleged repressive policies for workers adopted by BJP government. Farmers are going to join this general strike across the county against the BJP government and their policies.
The Trade Unions are observing a general strike across the country with Gramin hartal’, rail roko and road roko on January 8 and 9. This will be against the failure of Modi’s government to save rural lands of farmers from the corporate.
Hannan Mollah, general secretary of the CPI(M)-affiliated Al said that ” The farmers will extend all support to the ensuing general strike”.
Ten trade unions who have jointly called for the nationwide general strike are INTUC, AITUC, HMS, CITU, AIUTUC, AICCTU, UTUC, TUCC, LPF and SEWA.
Bharat Bandh Tomorrow in Bangaluru:
In Bengaluru, Around 1.25 lakh employees will strike work and 26,500 buses will not operate on Tomorrow and day after that.
Banking service could be affected on 8th and 9th January 2019, as bank employee can join the general strike called by Trade Union across the country against the anti-worker policy.
All India Bank Employee Association (AIBEA) and Bank employee Federation of India (BEF) has informed the Indian Banks Association for two days strike starting from 8th January.
A charter of 12-demands was put forth by the unions at the National Convention of Workers held on September 28. Some of these demands were: minimum wages, pension to all, end of contract labor, universal social security and enforcement of labor laws.
Bharat Bandh Tomorrow in Delhi:
All commercial market across the country will be closed tomorrow, in Delhi all retailers and wholesalers will join the Bandh called by Trade Union.
CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal told PTI that a protest Dharna will be held at Jantar Mantar against the Walmart-Flipkart deal and FDI in retail.
