Asus has launched a new laptop series in China at the starting price of $500. The company has launched a series with the three variations: Intel i3-8130U CPU, an Intel i5-8250U and the top variant with an Intel i7-8550U. RAM and internal storage are not confirmed yet by the company. After the launch of this product, Gearbest has already listed a laptop named Asus Adol with some of its basic features without the price tag.
So we start exploring it with its specifications listed on Gearbest. This new series of laptop is featured with a 13.3-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixels (FHD) resolutions and the ultrathin 4.3mm bezel around it, which allow its display to cover almost 91% of the front panel. Surprisingly this bezel makes the laptop compromise on its front camera, a user must use a webcam for front cam use. This thing is new in the laptops, let’s see how the user will react.
Coming to its design, it is designed with the full metal body for a total weight of 1025kg and thickness of 17.99mm. It is also featured with an “Ergo Lift” which allow a laptop rise up by 24.77 degrees when the lid is open, this will give a benefit of more heat dissipation and better typing speed.
The Adol series is featured with Intel i3-8130U CPU, an Intel i5-8250U and the top variant with an Intel i7-8550U processor. As we mentioned above Gearbest has listed a laptop with i3-8240U SoC clocked at 2.2GHz, Dual Core 12nm processor. Also, it is featured with Intel GMA HD 620 GPU.
It also offers a backlit keyboard with 1.4mm key travel, a fingerprint scanner, SonicMaster speakers, two USB 2.0/3.0 ports, TYPE-C, HDMI, a 3.5mm audio jack and a Micro SD card reader. The company has managed to provide a good battery life with fast charging feature for this laptop. The battery will last up to 12 hours, with 60% of charge in just 49 minutes.
According to Techtablets Intel, i5-8250U + Nvidia MX150 variant costs 4999 Yuan ($730), while the i7-8550U option (without discrete graphics) costs 5299 Yuan ($770).
